Here at Summitview Farm we currently have 6 Australian Cattle Dogs; 4 bitches and two dogs. All our dogs are raw fed prey model without exception. We do not give yearly vaccinations. We allow our dogs to develop natural immunity to obtain a healthy working immune system. Homeopathic treatment is used on all canines unless emergency situations require the use of standard veterinary medicine such as a surgery.
My daughter trains all our dogs and we show occasionally. Showing has recently been limited due to my job, our farm and the rescues we take in. Three of our dogs work on our farm daily with our small flock of sheep and as needed with the cattle during summer months to move our cattle.
We do not breed often and are cautious when selling them due to the rising numbers in rescue. When interviewing prospective puppy buyers I try to place our pups in homes that will either raw feed and/or limit the use of vaccines as I believe it contributes to the pups longevity and health. Knowledge of the breed or previous Australian Cattle Dog ownership is also a must.
We spend a lot of time from birth to the day our pups leave getting them ready for their new homes. They have been exposed to most farm animals, are used to riding in vehicles, usually crate trained and 75-100% house trained.
All pups are sold with a contract, limited registration and a photo album of pictures from birth to time of sale in addition to their health records.
Any pup we sell is welcome to come back to us at any time for any reason because we do not want them ending up in shelters.
